Gertrude Braun married David Fitzgerald in 1893 and they had five children: Francis "Franny" in 1894, Gertrude five years later, and then David, Joseph, and Elmer in 1906. Based on the Hannigan children's ages, this picture was taken about 1918.
David is on the far left, then David, Jr. or Joseph, Gertrude and Fanny Fitzgerald. Next to Fanny is Catherine Braun Hannigan and Frank Hannigan. On the bottom is Catherine Hannigan, Gerald born in 1909, Elmer "Bud" and Frank Hannigan, Jr. (Thanks to Sean Hannigan for the correction.)
In this 1920 census, David is still working as an Inspector for Armour and his two daughters work there as stenographers, as well.
We know that dear Gertrude passed away later in 1920 and David died from a horrible injury sustained on the job. His poor son, David, knew that his father was from Glin Limerick but didn't appear to know the names of his grandparents.
