The Manning Family - Ireland to Western New York

Loretta Manning, Jane Manning Hannigan's niece, wrote this family history. A generous Ancestry member kindly shared with me.

Thomas and Mary Hutchison Manning and their daughter, Jane, emigrated to Wyoming County in Western NY from Ireland in the early 19th century.  By 1850, two more children were born, Thomas in 1838 and Mary in 1843. Mary Hutchison's sister had probably come to New York with them, but she and her husband had died so Thomas and Mary adopted their nephew, James Harty. Mary's brother, William Hutchison and his wife, Mary, lived right next door and they had adopted their nephews Robert and Edward Harty.
